McDonald’s has no idea what Patrick Kane looks like

Patrick Kane is one of the most recognizable names and faces in the NHL. Prior to T.J. Oshie's heroics against Russia, Kane may have also been the most familiar name on Team USA. Because of this, it was really no surprise when McDonald's selected him to be in their advertising campaign for the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Unfortunately, McDonald's kind of butchered Kane's likeness on their packaging. Butchered may be an understatement. Evidently, Kane is this blob of purple, yellow and red as seen on this McDonald's bag in the photo above from @Chad_Reno13

So…what is that thing? The "thing" barely passes as a hockey player, let alone Patrick Kane. Why are his skates so buttery? If you're going to run with an image like this, what's the point of labeling it? It would have been better to just throw a generic "Men's Hockey" next to this piece of clip art.

If you're wondering if rights may be an issue here, McDonald's created a pretty decent ad with Kane at the beginning of February. You'll notice the lack of purple and yellow colors.
