Cooking Channel’s “Bitchin’ Kitchen” is one weak attempt to be edgy

What happens when the Cooking Channel tries to get edgy? The best answer might be this awful commercial for "Bitchin' Kitchen" you see below.

Nadia G, star of "Bitchin' Kitchen" on the Cooking Channel (Yes, that is the shows real name) brings energy and attitude to the kitchen, but mostly she'll just be bringing a thick accent that sounds completely over exaggerated. Born in Montreal, Nadia G (Nadia Giosia) was in born into an Italian family but at some point she decided to play up that part of her life in such an overly dramatized way that it makes some of the Jersey Shore cast sound like scholars.

Her and her "off the wall" cast of characters are a cheap, and rather sad attempt by the Cooking Channel to bring edginess to cooking. She's the female Guy Fieri, minus the backwards sunglasses. No one should fault the Cooking Channel for trying to spice up their programming, but we can condemn them for doing it in such an over the top, annoying fashion.

She's so edgy! She throws up "Rock on" gestures! How will this kitchen contain her!? I won't be tuning in to find out.
