A terrific print ad from Forbes Magazine

Print ads can be a bit tricky. You have to grab the reader's attention and convey your message before the reader is able to flip the page. The balance between visuals and message is a complicated one. Here, Forbes Magazine provides an outstanding example of what print advertising should be with this ad that shows how Forbes goes behind the scenes to get the real story and real insights from the business world.

The ad, created by Jandl out of Slovakia, is a play on an old idea that the public only sees and hears what big businesses want you to hear, as reported by their "puppets". Forbes tries to go behind the curtain, aiming to speak to the puppet master directly. The print at the top left of the ad reads "Real insights from the business world."
