Cars.com commercial has a “Varsity Blues” twist

Cars.com wants to show you that there doesn't have to be any drama when purchasing a new car. However, if you're still looking for drama during the experience they are happy to provide some, this time through actor James Van Der Beek. Here Van Der Beek is summoned to add a bit of drama – an act he accomplishes by diving into one of his most famous scenes.

Van Der Beek's speech is from the 1999 film "Varsity Blues", a movie which tells the story of a high school football team playing in a small Texas town. The movie is loaded with iconic moments, but Van Der Beek's speech might be the most memorable.

It's safe to assume that this "Varsity Blues" reference might sail over some heads, but those in the know should get plenty of enjoyment watching Van Der Beek briefly reprise his role.
