Nike’s eerie Oscar Pistorius “I am the bullet in the chamber” ad

In news that shook the sports world, Oscar Pistorius – the double amputee sprinter which made history competing in the Olympics – has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. The extremely tragic story shines a rather odd and somewhat disturbing light on one of Nike's old ads.

Nike ran an ad back in 2011 depicting Pistorius in the starting blocks next to a caption that read, "I am the bullet in the chamber." Yikes. Since the news of the shooting broke, the team that runs the sprinter's official site quickly removed the advertisement.

However, as we all know, once something is on the Internet it's there for good. We will forever be left with the haunting advertisement that now must be looked at in a new, unsettling manner.
