Pele is Subway’s newest “Famous Fan”

You'll see a new, iconic athlete promoting Subway in the near future. The world's largest restaurant brand (seriously – they have 39,700+ locations) has named Pele as their new Global Brand Ambassador. The legendary Brazilian soccer star will appear in advertisements as well as various promotions for the company.

Subway finally addresses soccer with their inclusion of Pele. The 72-year-old is often recognized as one of the best soccer players to ever play the game. With 1,282 goals in 1,366 career games, Pele is in a class of his own. He joins an impressive list of athletes (Michael Phelps, Robert Griffin III, Ryan Howard) Subway has employed to promote their sandwiches.
