PETA uses Manti Te’o hoax to create the most ridiculous billboard ever

Take a bow PETA!  You've won the prize for Most Ridiculous Way To Exploit The Manti Te'o Hoax.  Not only have you found a way to include the Notre Dame star linebacker in your underdog campaign to raise awareness about the evils of chicken wings, you've included a sexual innuendo joke as the icing on this delectable advertising sundae!

The advocacy group plans on erecting (sorry, couldn't resist) this billboard in New Orleans for the Super Bowl to coincide with their campaign to support eating fake chicken wings.  What are fake chicken wings you ask?  Here's a cauliflower-based recipe from PETA's website that sounds absolutely disgusting.  Couldn't we just all agree to eat boneless buffalo wings?  That should be the standard way to go in my opinion.

Anyways, the PETA article about the Te'o campaign also features tons of painful football and wing related puns for added pleasure (there I go again)…

"Manti Te'o may have been buffaloed by a fake girlfriend, but sometimes "fake" is actually better. That's why PETA created this billboard urging football fans to avoid unnecessary roughness to chickens on Super Bowl Sunday by intentionally grounding real chicken wings and opting for play-action fake fowl instead"

Even though this campaign has no chance of succeeding, and PETA may not even be able to run the billboard with Te'o's likeness, you have to admire the added spunk from PETA in this case – this Manti Te'o innuendo filled billboard is way more explosive than boring protest after boring protest after boring protest.

Part of me is starting to feel sympathy for Manti Te'o as he's become something of a national punching bag as the scandal has run its course.  If being made fun of by PETA after being reeled in by a catfishing scheme isn't rock bottom, it has to be pretty close.
