GEICO heads in yet another new direction with “One Headlight” ad

It’s almost impossible to keep track of all of the different marketing and advertising strategies and campaigns GEICO is using to sell insurance. There’s the pig, the gecko, the camel and a host of others. You can add yet another to the list as GEICO rolls out an ad pitching their motorcycle insurance set to the tune of “One Headlight” by The Wallflowers.

At the very least it’s better than the stupid biker made out of money monstrosity. Have to question who inserted the very poor CGI GEICO billboard in this one, but that’s a whole other point.

The company received a ton of flack for using a song by The Allman Brothers in their previous spots, so now they’ve switched to music from the late 90s. “One Headlight” isn’t a bad song, but it’s a bit too punny (get it – motorcycles usually have one headlight) and we imagine it will grow pretty tiresome sooner than later.
