Chevy has had some memorable ad campaigns in the past. Just think about how popular their "Like a Rock" commercials were back in the day. Lately though, they really haven't had anything too memorable, especially since Chrysler is killing it with their "Imported from Detroit" campaign.
This would be the part where you would think I would tell you they have mounted a comeback. Instead, I am going to tell you how they took about 1,487 steps backwards. The new Spark commercial tried to portray how safe the new car is by showing you a person in a bubble (Bubble Boy) whose bubble pops and he opts to get inside the Spark.
The problem I have with this is that people are not put in bubbles because they are safe, they are put in there to avoid germs. So is Chevy trying to tell us they have created an airtight car that is incapable of being penetrated by germs and viruses? Where was this car in Outbreak?
Big fat fail, Chevy.
